The Castle Antiques opened its doors at 120 Rankin Street in Ashdown, Arkansas, on Labor Day weekend 1996. Owners, Clayton and Carolyn Castleman, continued to teach school in Stuttgart, Arkansas, while Clayton's sister Luch ran the store until the owners retired from teaching and moved to Ashdown in 1999-2000. The store has always had unique items, antique furniture, electric and oil lamps and lamp parts, beautiful old linens, pretty glassware, plus rustic antiques and much more. The Castle, a beautiful two-story building that resembles a castle, is a well-known antique shop in Southwest Arkansas and will celebrate 30 years on Labor Day weekend 2026.
